QA Automation Engineer – REF 42 – 50

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our Xogito engineering team and contribute to a long-term international software project.

This is a hands-on role covering test automation, manual testing, and API testing. The focus is on ensuring software quality across the full development lifecycle, from requirements to production releases.

The exact tech stack may vary depending on the project you join. The ideal candidate is comfortable adapting to different environments. They should be able to build reliable automated tests with Cypress or Playwright, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and use AI-assisted tools to make testing faster and smarter.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Cypress and/or Playwright.
• Perform manual testing of web applications, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Test and validate REST APIs, ensuring correctness, reliability, and data integrity.
• Write SQL queries to validate data and support test scenarios across relational and non-relational databases.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and help keep them fast, stable, and trustworthy.
• Use AI-powered tools to support test case generation, test maintenance, and analysis of results.
• Create clear test scenarios and test cases based on product requirements and user flows.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with developers through resolution.
• Help decide which scenarios should be automated and which are better suited for manual validation.
• Investigate failures, analyze test results, and support root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve overall software quality and QA processes.

Required Experience & Knowledge

• Strong professional experience in software quality assurance, covering both automated and manual testing.
• Hands-on experience with Cypress and/or Playwright for test automation.
• Good programming or scripting experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid experience with API testing (e.g., Postman or similar tools, plus automated API tests).
• Good working knowledge of SQL for data validation.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Practical experience using AI tools in day-to-day QA work.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and defect management.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Ability to analyze requirements, identify edge cases, and translate them into effective test coverage.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing mobile applications (iOS/Android), both manually and with automation tools such as Appium, Detox, or similar.
• Experience testing applications built with modern frameworks such as Angular or Nest.js.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with performance or load testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience working with distributed international teams.
