Purpose of the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Java Developer to join a distributed engineering team building a modern HR, Workforce Management & Fintech SaaS platform used by businesses across the U.S.
Our platform helps organizations manage their workforce through a suite of cloud-based applications supporting employee scheduling, time tracking, payroll-related workflows, communication, and other business-critical operations.
As a Senior Fullstack Java Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and evolving scalable backend services while also contributing to modern React-based web applications. You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle alongside Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, DevOps, and fellow Software Engineers to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions.
We’re also investing heavily in AI-assisted software engineering. As part of the team, you’ll leverage modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and similar technologies to improve software quality, accelerate development, streamline testing, and enhance engineering productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Build scalable full-stack applications
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Build modern, responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend development practices.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs that power web and mobile applications.
- Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code across both frontend and backend components.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
Collaborate across the product lifecycle
- Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, DevOps, and other Software Engineers throughout the full SDLC.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate on solution design, technical architecture, and feature implementation.
- Support QA and production deployments to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Drive engineering excellence
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion the effective and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, documentation, and engineering workflows.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Solid professional experience building modern web applications with React.
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Good understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Experience collaborating within distributed, remote engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools in day-to-day development.
- Strong knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.

Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
