Senior QA Automation Engineer (Java, Selenium, Playwright) – REF 42 – 47

Purpose of the Role

We’re looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a distributed engineering team building a large-scale Healthcare eCommerce platform.

The role is highly hands-on, with Java and Selenium WebDriver at the core of the existing automation environment. You’ll develop and maintain automated tests, expand test coverage, and help ensure the quality and reliability of business-critical web applications.

The team is also expanding toward Playwright and TypeScript for newer applications and embracing AI-assisted testing and coding tools to improve engineering productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated tests using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks and test suites.
• Build UI, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Improve automation coverage, reliability, and maintainability.
• Identify, investigate, document, and verify software defects.
• Collaborate with Developers, QA Engineers, Product, and DevOps throughout the SDLC.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to newer automation initiatives using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Use AI-assisted coding and testing tools to support test development, debugging, and productivity.

Required Experience & Knowledge

Essential

• 3+ years of professional QA Automation experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience working with and maintaining existing automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of web test automation and QA best practices.
• Experience with API testing.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Experience using AI coding/testing tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
• Experience with TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber.
• Experience with SQL and database testing.
• Experience testing cloud-based applications.
